2nd Grade Celebrations!

Where has this year gone? These children have become family, and I love them all so dearly! We have studied content: addition, subtraction, word problems, telling time, reading and writing non fiction, but I hope that through it all your child has gained confidence, a feeling of self worth, respect for others and knowledge of just how special they are!

Thank you for your support this year through donations, party planning, crowd control, field trip chaperones and homework. But most of all, THANK YOU for trusting me with your precious little gifts, they will always have a special place in my heart and have been an incredible blessing to me! I considered it an honor and privilege to work with these kids every day…. I love them to pieces and can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. Have a wonderful summer and please stay in touch! 🙂

Summer Fun!

I hope that all of you are enjoying summer with your family and friends! As most of you know… I got married this summer! It is hard to believe that summer is winding down, but I am thrilled to start our new school year together! Enjoy the last few weeks of summer, but in the meantime, become familiar with our blog and check out some important pages.

Help Wanted!

I hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL start to their summer!!

As we enjoy each summer day, we are also working to get ready for the up and coming school year. There are so many little jobs to get arranged and organized before the end of the summer. We, first grade teachers, would LOVE some help getting ready. We thought it would be a great way for us to get to know you before the school year begins, as well as getting some much needed help with some time consuming jobs. 🙂

We plan to have a few work day/nights throughout the summer and we would love for you to join us. Our first work day will be on Thursday, June 28 from 6 to 8ish. If you would like to stop by and help, or even just say hi– we would love to see you!!

Summer Library!

This summer, our school library will be open for students to check out books. On Tuesdays, 10:00-12:00, students can stop by school to check out books and visit with their favorite teachers. Research has shown that students who choose to read throughout the summer are more successful readers. Help to establish healthy reading habits and mark this on your calendars. Looking forward to seeing all of you there!

Open House!

The first day of school is right around the corner! Please be sure you attend the Georgetown School Open House.

The Open House is on September 1 from 6:30-7:30.

Summer!

I hope all of you are having a fabulous summer! I would love to hear what you have been up to. 🙂 My summer started out filled with weddings. I have one more to attend before school starts!

Another big event of the summer is that… I moved! I am now living in Holland and I absolutely love it! My family and friends came and helped me move in. 🙂

I have made the trip back to Battle Creek a few times. My dad is in a band and we love to go watch! He plays the drums. We are proud to be his #1 fans!

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go to the beach… it’s such a relaxing place to be and I love to watch the sunset. 🙂
